Mindfulness

"Mindfulness isn't about focused thinking, introspection, self-analysis, or mindful gymnastics. It's simply about bringing full attention- not thinking-to whatever occurs." -Saki F. Santorelli

As we sit and practice mindfulness, our minds might wander away hundreds of times. This is normal. Our minds are used to thinking. Meditation teacher Thich Nhat Hanh tells us that it is not important how many times our mind goes away from our breath, but how many times we bring it back. This is the training of our minds: Back to the breath over and over again. Back to our breath as we learn to be present in THIS moment.

Ahhh . . . the peace and joy to be found in THIS moment. This is my practice today.
