Time to Start Anew (KB)

Happy New Year! During this time of year, we can feel a call to change and start anew.  We can find ourselves no longer able to ignore the whispers of our hearts that encourage us to begin a new chapter in our lives. Some of us may begin a new diet or exercise program, while others take a leap of faith by changing careers or going back to school. Maybe we even feel called to start a new spiritual practice.  Whatever it may be, we often feel great excitement in the beginning. But further through the journey, as we start to face obstacles we may begin to doubt ourselves and our abilities. We may ask ourselves if we really want to continue. We may question if we are strong enough to make the changes we seek. We could even find ourselves forgetting why we started in the first place. At these moments, remembering the great distance you have already traveled can reassure you that you have the strength to persevere further. This week we are given the energy and inspiration to begin a new path, and also the Divine Assistance to overcome obstacles that may appear along the way.
As children, we dare to explore the world. Everything is a new adventure. It could be the first time walking alone to the mailbox, or the first time walking to school. Maybe you can remember a time you found yourself at a place where you felt alone and scared while far from home. In life, we can find ourselves in a space where we are unsure, overwhelmed and frightened. As children, we learned that we can eventually make it back home into loving arms — having gained wisdom and strength. The Universe supports each one of us this week, gifting us with the great knowing that we indeed can face the road that lies ahead and reach home, even if there are bumps along the way.
This week in the portion of Shemot, we read about the new generation of descendants of Jacob. The original family of Jacob, Joseph, and his brothers have passed on, while the new generation have become slaves in Egypt. They found themselves, too, wanting to initiate change in their lives and seek freedom. It is said they prayed to the Creator for help for many years. Finally, the Creator heard their prayers and sent Moses. Moses had been sent from the Creator to help the people begin a new path of spirituality and the Israelites out of slavery. Their hearts were calling them to change and Moses was there to help them face the great tests and challenges along the journey.
It is said that a spark of Moses’ soul is with every generation — even today’s generation. Remember, like Moses, your Spirit is powerful and wise. Your spirit is your link to the Creator’s energy, an energy that will see you through any journey towards any goal.  If we take one step at a time, call forth the help of our angels and remember our Spirit within, we will find ourselves making our dreams come true.  We have heard before that the Creator never gives us more than we can handle. The descendants of Jacob faced a difficult process, as do we. Each one of us was born with a special task in life, a special mission we were sent to earth to fulfill.  Whatever you are striving for in life, remember along your journey that you are not alone. The strength, light, and wisdom of the Creator is inside you, guiding you, empowering you, and directing your way home. Just like Moses, our inner spirit is there to remind us that mind over matter is possible and we can achieve the impossible!
This week, face the sun and the future with optimism. In your meditations, see yourself where you wish to be. See the life you dream of. See the best version of yourself. See your guardian angels guiding you along your path. Hear the wisdom of your heart. Know that the righteous souls of generations past are walking with you, holding your hand and showing you the way. Have certainty that the road home, no matter how treacherous it may be, is worth taking and just may be the reason you came to this world. There is a great joy waiting for you at the end.
There is no place like home, my friends, and together with the help of the Creator, we can find our way there.
