The Secret to Desire in a Long-Term Relationship.

Almost everyone I know who is in a long-term relationship has fears about losing “the spark.”

The sexual spark, that is.
And those who don’t have this fear typically tend to be the couples who have, well, already lost it.
While it is natural and healthy for our sexual relationship with our partner to evolve over time, most of us don’t want that part of the relationship to vanish entirely.
In her TED Talk “The secret to desire in a long-term relationship,” Esther Perel, a French relationship therapist, explores the reasons behind why desire fades.
But she doesn’t leave us with a lost cause. Instead, she explains the ways in which couples can actively cultivate desire over time.
She offers profound insights on the relationship between love, intimacy, and sex. And she gives me hope that long-term, passionate, heart-thumping desire is possible to maintain for years to come.
