Kindness inspiration this World Kindness Day

Today is World Kindness Day.
I'm sure, like me, the genuine acts of kindness you've experienced in your life have made all the difference and will remain with you forever.
At the bottom of this email I share a very inspiring random act of kindness I just came across that happened after the US election results (see pic below).
Sometimes all it takes is one kind person to change someone's day.
Be that someone or give thanks.
With any act of kindness or giving, it's the feeling behind it that can really count. The smallest act or gift can have the biggest impact if there's love and care behind it.
Pausing for empathy and to witness another's true beauty
can open the doors to kindness and compassion authentically.
Acts of kindness aren't just gifts for others, they're also a gift for you, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically, as scientific studies now demonstrate.

Being kind generates oxytocin in the body, A.K.A the ‘love hormone’ or ‘cuddle chemical’ (as it increases when you're in love and flows through the body when you hug). Oxytocin is associated with generosity, increased levels of trust, reduced fear and anxiety, seeing people in a more positive light (finding them more ‘attractive’), and greater empathy.
Health benefits of oxytocin include mopping up damaging free radicals, reducing inflammation, lowering blood pressure, aiding heart health and repair, and growing new blood vessels!
Anything heart-opening naturally increase oxytocin levels in the body, including acts of kindness.
Let's remember, kindness isn't just a physical thing. Thoughts and feelings are energy and impact people as well (as an empath I can 100% vouch for that).
Sending love to anything or anyone will always be received on some level. You could take some time out today for that, perhaps with a loving-kindness meditation. The Global Love Meditation is a free guided one you can also use, for example, available via our meditation page.
Even small acts can make a magical difference, whatever they be; letting someone through in traffic, opening a door, giving someone your seat on a train, offering a heartfelt compliment, taking the time to really listen, etc.
Of course, there are countless ways you can give, and not just physically.
You can:
Give love and care
Give unconditional acceptance
Give respect and acknowledgement
Give gratitude and appreciation
Give encouragement and support
Give time and attention
Give information and inspiration
Give patience and understanding
Give enthusiasm and joy
Give of your talents
Give positive thoughts, blessings or prayers

And on and on...
How can you be more loving and kind to yourself today, and everyday? Your self-love and well-being will also always enhance your capacity to love any other and be a gift to the world.
Much love,
