Living Courageously (GZ)

Dear Spiritual Partners,

Spiritual growth requires courage. Only fears stand between you and love, and fears are painful to experience. Do you stop and feel the sensations in your body when you are jealous, or angry, or when you have been betrayed or misunderstood? Spiritual growth requires you to do this continually.

Do you shout or withdraw emotionally when you are angry rather than feel the painful physical sensations beneath your anger (for example, in your chest, solar plexus, and throat areas)? Courage is required to do this. Until you have the courage to experience the magnetic power and physical pain of the frightened parts of your personality and respond to them consciously (with love) instead of re-act to them unconsciously, they will continue to control you. Choosing to do this (and cultivating parts of your personality that are patient and grateful) is spiritual growth. Until you do, these parts of your personality will continue to control you.
Instead of blaming people you think caused your anger, jealousy, vengeance, or despair, thank them instead while you are feeling angry, jealous, frightened, etc. This is how to move beyond the control of these painful parts of your personality. Thank them for showing you what you need to change in yourself in order grow spiritually. Thank the Universe for providing these people at the optimal time. Reach for the loving parts of your personality that are grateful, patient, and appreciative for another opportunity to move into your full potential. You were born to use these opportunities consciously and wisely. That requires courage.
With Love,

Gary
