Enemies

The Bible tells us to love our neighbor and also to love our enemies, probably because they are generally the same people. -G. K. Chesterton

Recently I've caught myself saying that the reason I find it hard to love a person is because I don't know them . . . really know them . . . understanding the wounds and warts that make up their lives. This is true with my enemies. The people we don't like are usually the people that we don't understand. Once I try to really understand my enemies I cease to hate them, or dislike them, with any intensity. This awareness is the key to Say Yes to Your Spirit. My enemy is really my neighbor in strange clothes. - Leo Booth

Today I can love my enemies. And often they become my friends.
