Our Eyes Have Power (KB)

When Jacob found out that his son Joseph was alive after many years of separation, he says, “I need to see him before I leave this world.” These are almost the same words that Moses expressed when he said just before his death, “I need to see the land of Israel before I leave this world.”

The reason that both of them use the word “see” is an interesting concept.

It is said that when you look at somebody, you draw upon his or her energy. Not only do you draw on their energy, but they also draw on yours. Furthermore, you can actually elevate a person simply by looking into their eyes. You can make them feel all kinds of things. You can make them love. You can make them cry. You can make them sad. You can even make them want more for their spiritual growth.

Our eyes – just like our words, our thoughts, and our hands – can be used to elevate or to destroy. It is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Today, let’s take a few minutes to set our intention to use our eyes to connect with and bring harmony to those around us and to do our part in elevating the world.
