The 12 Days of Aries: Day 6, Virgo (KB)

Welcome to Day 6 of the 12 Days of Aries, which begins at sundown on Wednesday April 13, and ends at sundown on Thursday April 14.

Virgo is a mutable sign, meaning its energy is inherently one of change and adaptability. It is also one of the earth signs, which have the gift of manifestation. Hardworking and naturally dedicated to a higher cause, Virgo is the “servant of the universe.” People born under this sign have a great knack for detail, but are prone to being overcritical of themselves and others. The motto of Virgo is “I judge therefore I am.”

The Virgo Inner Child Archetype is the child that feels like nothing can ever quite fit the bill and measure up. This child has an innate feeling of “I am not enough” and falls prey to perfectionism and judgment; this child lacks compassion for its own frailties and those of others.

We all have a bit of this Virgo Inner Child Archetype inside. Perhaps we find ourselves judging others for their mistakes or beating ourselves up for our own. Whatever the case may be, the point is not to judge our inner child. In fact, non-judgmental recognition of our Virgo Inner Child Archetype can motivate us to reach into our hearts for unconditional love.

Consciousness for the Day: Replace criticism with acceptance. Resist perfectionistic tendencies. Affirm that you have a spark of the Creator within you and you are enough! Be mindful to treat others with kindness, warmth, human dignity, and respect.

Most importantly, be gentle with yourself and your inner child. You are work in progress and a child of God who is very loved. Healing comes from positively acknowledging and taking responsibility for what we need to change, not from beating ourselves up.
