Uniqueness

"Each honest calling, each walk of life, has its own elite, its own aristocracy, based upon excellence of performance." James Bryant Conant

In the past, I was so busy admiring the gifts of others that I missed my own; I was so caught up in the lives of others that I missed my own existence. One of the symptoms of my alcoholism was low self-esteem. Of course, I acted in a role of confidence. I pretended everything was okay. I wore the mask of success, but deep within I was always waiting for the world to find out I was a fake, that something was missing in my life. In recovery, I have discovered God's gift of spirituality. I know through my life that a uniqueness exists in the world. I have the capacity to make the day better, not only for myself but also for others.

Thank You for the specialness of my life.
