I now understand why throughout history artists were persecuted and why they moved away from organized religion. Many artists search for that which is different, which cannot be contained, and that is spiritually free. As a drinking alcoholic, I found it necessary to control my life, thoughts, and behavior in each and every situation. Sobriety enables me to risk and experiment in God's world. I am discovering more of myself in what yesterday's artists created. The "musts" of the past have been replaced by the healthy "shoulds" and "needs" of today.

Supreme Artist, let me hear You in the whisperings of Your creatures.
