The Buddha’s advice: how to deal with ^*#%?!$ Conflict! in our life.

Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis presents:

We don’t have to hate our enemies.

How do we deal with conflict?

1. See enemy as self. Empathy. List what we have in common.
Trash talk usually has a sense of humor in it and can be a fun way to be competitive.
2. Prajna: Our own wisdom is our teacher or prajna. Discernment underlies all of the other qualities.
See where the other side is coming from. Disagree agreeably.
3. We shouldn’t enjoy conflict. We want to be fundamentally happiness and sane. Don’t vilify the opposition.
4. The Buddha’s middle way. Pour a healing salve on hatred with Maitri.
Engage the world with a sense of fearlessness.

On the notion of having to have our sh*t together in our 20s:

Don’t guilt trip yourself.

2.~Be good at it.
3.~Make a living doing it.
4.~Has to be good for the world.
