Belonging

I knew that if I cut a tree, my arm would bleed. -Alice Walker

Sometimes I hear myself saying that I never met a stranger. What I mean is that once I overcome my fear to talk with you or engage in some way, it's usually a pleasant experience. I'm often in the company of people whom I don't know very well. But once I share my story, my joys, my fears, my hopes, my confusions, I usually find that we can have a conversation. And then a connection is made, especially if I'm willing to listen to their story. Underneath the pomp and circumstance we are all very much the same-all trying to make sense of this thing called life. - Leo Booth

When I am known, I belong.
