Kris Kristofferson: The Loss of My Dream Man.

{*Did you know you can write on Elephant? Here’s how—big changes: How to Write & Make Money or at least Be of Benefit on Elephant. ~ Waylon}

“Tell the truth. Sing with passion. Work with laughter. Love with heart. ‘Cause that’s all that matters in the end.” Kris Kristofferson (1936-2024)

Sometimes a news headline is just a sucker punch to the stomach.

That is exactly what I experienced when I learned of Kris Kristofferson’s passing.

He was one of my first loves. His deep growling voice imprinted itself onto my heart and became the one characteristic I would always be attracted to.

Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down” and “Me and Bobby McGee” were the top two hits on the soundtrack of my life.

His character in “A Star Is Born” is what my dream partner always looked like, down to the heart-wrenching angst in his eyes.

I am caught by surprise, realizing that he has been the model of the man I have been searching for all my life.

Now what?

Memories of this beautiful man and his music, his voice, his smile, and the way these things make me feel inside—that’s what now.

I will always have those things.

Rest in Peace my excruciatingly handsome dream man with the voice that will always have the power to rip out my soul, in such good way.

“On a Sunday mornin’ sidewalk

I’m wishin’, Lord, that I was stoned

‘Cause there’s somethin’ in a Sunday

That makes a body feel alone

And there’s nothin’ short a’ dyin’

That’s half as lonesome as the sound

Of the sleepin’ city sidewalk

And Sunday mornin’ comin’ down.”
