Mother’s Day is for them.

Anyone who’s been unconditionally Kind in your Life:  {Walk the Talk Show Podcast, Video}

A Mother’s Day Appreciation & Buddhist Talk with Waylon’s Mom & Wife.

Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis presents:

This week on our longrunning, ongoing “Walk the Talk Show” podcast and video series, with awards and millions of views over the years…

Waylon talks about Mother’s Day and Motherhood with his own Mama, Linda, and his wife, Kelsey.

They discuss the Buddhist perspective on Motherhood, the meditation practice of Tonglen (which traditionally starts with a Mother figure), and Kelsey shares how she likes to spend Mother’s Day, while Linda shares stories of Mother’s Day with Waylon when he was growing up.

“I love you, mom—and Happy Mother’s Day.  I appreciate that you gave me a love for nature and a love for politics—not being nasty, but caring about our environment, and decency, and honesty. And just caring.

Anyone who has been unconditionally kind to your life, Mother’s Day is for them, and hopefully that was your mom.”
~ Waylon H. Lewis

Watch the video:

Mama (Linda) Lewis speaking about Tonglen: “The reason why traditionally it would start with one’s mother is because the mother is an example of someone that gives unconditional kindness to her little baby. And often she pays so much attention to the child that it’s much more than she is able to pay to herself. It’s really an example of selfless love.”

Can’t watch the video? Why not listen?

Waylon“How would we celebrate it when I was growing up with you? Would we?”

Mama (Linda) Lewis“Well, we were a team. The two of us. And so in a way, every day was Mother’s Day.”

Kelsey Lewis“I love connecting with my son, Leo, our 5-year-old. And I try to reflect on just my journey as a mother and the role of mothers in the world.  I just love reconnecting with the essence of motherhood and what it means to me and how it feels in my body.”
