~ Waylon Lewis {Walk the Talk Show Podcast, Video}

Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis presents:
“ We can do better. We can teach men that real masculinity is based on taking responsibility and being willing to apologize. That’s owning something. That’s true leadership. It’s built on being kind to others.”
This week on our long-running “Walk the Talk Show” podcast and video series, with awards and millions of views over the years…
Waylon speaks with the Elephant community about the mind-blowing factoid he discovered about the origins of the “alpha male” concept when it was studied in the 80s and about how it actually means the exact opposite of what we believe today.
“ I’m really hoping the ‘alpha male’ movement can wake up and realize that this sort of aggression built on insecurity is a weird capitalistic suckering and stealing from men…who have real insecurity and real problems and real loneliness.” ~ Waylon H. Lewis
This just really blew my mind:
“What really just blew me away was that the original study around what it is to be an alpha male is literally diametrically opposite of what people understand now. And there are real problems, but the people taking advantage of those problems are part of the problem. They are making everything worse. They’re making money off of people’s insecurities.” ~ Waylon H. Lewis

Can’t watch the video? Why not listen?
“Remember, looking out for the weakest was the mark of the alpha male, the real alpha. If we’re gonna be safe and happy, we have to be able to have friendships and real relationships built on mutual respect and seeing and hearing one another. And that’s hard. It’s based on learning together. On learning how to be better listeners. On respecting one another, on wanting to live a good life that’s also good for others, and that’s what Elephant’s about.” ~ Waylon H. Lewis
Don’t forget:
”True feminism isn’t just for women. It’s for all of us. I’m a feminist. Hopefully all mature men can embrace that term and be active feminists, not only allies, but more than that.” ~ Waylon H. Lewis
