Music is healing.
It’s beauty. It’s power. It’s depth.
Music has the ability to make us feel.
The right song, at the right moment, can shift our entire world—how we’re experiencing whatever we’re experiencing. The right words can feed a broken, tender, tentative, wary part of us that we didn’t even realize we needed to tend to. Or, it can very simply just make us smile.
This song did both for me today.
This morning while I was working, I came upon this song. I grew up listening to the Dixie Chicks (now known as The Chicks) version, so that has a special place in my heart—but this—this song.
This version.
I’d never heard of Sierra Eagleson, but I was stunned.
Her voice gave me chills.
I listened to this song nonstop, and I sang along—the whole time.
I sang it. I belted it out. I felt it.
I felt it.
Maybe this can touch a little piece of your heart too:
