I haven’t experienced a full night of uninterrupted sleep in over two years.
Between pregnancy and postpartum and co-sleeping with a toddler, there’s usually at least a window of an hour or two each night where I’m wide awake and find myself scrolling endlessly.
I tend to gravitate to Threads during those sleepless hours to avoid too many images or videos. I’ve convinced myself that all the text will eventually make my eyes sleepy and I’ll drift into a peaceful slumber.
And while that’s a big, fat fail every single time, there are those nights when I find a thread so engaging that I don’t even care that I’m losing priceless rest time.
The other night, I came across a random post that simply read:
“Men: Be brutally honest, what makes a woman instantly unattractive?”
I braced for the responses.
With all the Manosphere, Red Pill, Epstein files madness happening in the world, I was prepared for a bunch of bros in the comments demonizing feminism and the idea that women want, you know, basic human rights. Or so-called lonely guys who lack even a shred of self-awareness or emotional intelligence and are only interested in submissive trad wife types.
Basically, I was prepared to be annoyed and maybe even a little disgusted.
Then I remembered whose algorithm I was scrolling through—and thankfully, the men who showed up in the comment section did not disappoint.
Here are my favorite, most eye-opening, most make-you-laugh-out-loud responses:

Sometimes, it really is “not all men.” Sometimes, men show us they’re exactly who we’ve always hoped they were. And for that, I’m grateful.
