and am amazed at the splendor of life, the simple happenings that bring such
joy, the nobility that is revealed in humankind, and the creative adventure
and mystery of life. I see how drugs kept me blind to so much. Alcohol held
me prisoner to mediocrity, and much of the wonder of life passed me by. As a
