A giant among men, who worked for the advancement of all kinds of US in the rainbow of humanity. Flawed, charismatic, a man of action and a changemaker, he paved the way for President Obama and carried on the legacy, with many others, of his mentor MLK, Jr.

Rest in Peace, Jesse Jackson. Yours is the first campaign I ever remember feeling (my mother’s) excitement about.

If you know nothing else about Jesse Jackson, this big-hearted big man with a presence bigger than big, let them be these three moments. I am!
