Virgo Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse: Purifying the Inner Critic to become Compassion Embodied.

The drainage of the swamp, sewage, and utter depravity of the hidden recesses of the world has finally begun.

The cracks of the porous foundations of perfection, savior, and mask wearing facades exposing themselves now. The world stage of smoke, mirrors, illusions, and delusions breaking with each step we take toward sovereignty of our energy and self. The leaders at large: vile, corrupt, inhuman, alien to this world of bleeding, breaking, human hearts and spirits being seen in the light of day. Another layer of the darkness of the world released in billion-page form documents to elicit shock, overwhelm, numbness, denial, confusion, disarray, and emotional hijacking.

These are the times we are living and awakening in. The darkness of shadow ruling government being seen in the light of day now of expanding and awakening consciousness even if things feel darker at first as shadows purge and alchemize back into wholeness.

Humanity is waking up. Jostled awake in the night of feverish sleep. A sickness of patriarchal society, elite ruling, blood shedding, pain and war inflicting, mass dis-ease of fear spreading like a virus, one now being purged, expunged, and detoxified through the channels of truth and purity. A spiritual reckoning that comes through the darkest of times. When all hope seems lost. When new dreams of possibility seem even more futile. When depression, hopelessness, and apathy grow heavy, despondency looming at every step we take, we wonder, why keep going? Why stay in a world that has clearly lost its moral compass?

As souls, we knew this plight and plot of human awakening would not be swift, easy, or without loss. We knew it would take the grittiest of our humanity, the resilience of our soul, and the strength in numbers of our soul groups and communities. To know that even though at times, and often, we stand alone in our own battles of light versus dark, we are never truly alone in comradery with others choosing time and time again to believe in the power of their own light.

This is the Leo/Aquarius axis, of which we are now just getting a taste for with this first eclipse season of 2026. With the nodes of fate shifting to Aquarius/ Leo as the north and south node rules come July 26, we have already gotten a sample of this energy with the first solar eclipse in the sign of Aquarius on February 17, the same day as the Chinese lunar new year of the Fire Horse.

This eclipse opened the gateway and portal to the powerful and potent time that is eclipse season. Aquarius energy will be our future telling guide, our vision seeking higher, community-oriented, collective fabric weaving, sense of belonging as part of a global humanity. This Aquarius solar eclipse and new moon was squaring Uranus (Aquarius’ co-ruling planet along with Saturn) bringing in the new, the shocking developments, the disruptions to status quo, the I-can’t-keep-doing-this-the-same-way-I’ve-always-done-it type of energy to get us free, liberate us, and push us into innovative, change seeking energies.

The snow globe shake-ups and shake-downs rarely feel good to our human minds seeking safety and certainty of the familiar and known. Aquarius is the energy of the future calling to us, the strange, peculiar and unknown future of possibility. Aquarius season and energy has reminded us of our sense of purpose and belonging as new earth leaders, here to remind each other that a different world is possible, one conducive and supportive of our humanity, of our freedom, and of our basic rights to live a prosperous and supported life. Though we were born into systems of control, we are not here to stay stuck in those systems already collapsing. We were born to build new systems that actually sustain us and human life moving forward. Pluto in Aquarius energy for the next 20 years will be showing us the way toward that transformation of systems to support the new human. With AI technology ever expanding, we can easily lose our footing in this physical reality. What is real? What is only made to appear real? Discernment between truth and illusion is vital in these times.

Leo energy as the new south node ruler (come July) will ask of us to release over self-reliance, hyper-individuality, and excessive ego attachments for the sake of remembering our connection to the larger whole and that we need each other to truly thrive in this coming age of humanity. This axis will initiate us into a more communal way of living, to remember that our soul families and groups are here to uplift and support us and to release the hyper isolating of self complex we’ve carried our whole empathic, sensitive life to feel safe. For those of us who have spent so much of our lives alone and in solitude, coming back into connection with others aligned with our frequency will be the sacred invitation.

Eclipse season is always previewed with a caution, a warning sign, an electric shock wave, a pressurized energy in a way that frazzles and fries us out before we even experience the energies themselves. Preparation and awareness are vital, of course, but we must change the language and verbiage around these astrologically significant transits if we want to at all sustain our sanity, energy, and nervous systems moving forward. For as much karmic clearing, change, uncertainty, and unexpected energy as eclipse energy can bring to our lives for the next six months, we need to counterbalance those same possibilities with a grounded, level-headed approach too. With increasing conversation around these energies, it can add more pressure to an already pressurized system.

This year of the fire horse is certainly a time of increased momentum toward action building, toward moving forward, and toward stepping deeper into our power to make bold steps, but does this mean we have to burn ourselves out by sprinting ahead for the next year? Or that we have to rush and make the move before our energy is resourced enough for a big energetic output? This next year takes a quality of discernment, when to move and when to be still and trust that in the stillness we will know when we need to take action again. Horses don’t run in a frenzy for no reason. They run for purpose, for a time being, then they rest. This next year reminds us to be bold and courageous but that force, push, and overriding our system’s capacity is not the answer either. We can take action as we feel called to and not a moment before. The year of the snake energy is still integrating, though. The energetic shedding still needed of anything misaligned will be more deeply, intensely, and uncomfortably felt, lit up by the fire horse energy, urging to be purified.

With Saturn and Neptune having recently shifted into the sign of Aries, the fire starting sign, the new baby birthing energy, we are just beginning a new era of sovereign spiritual self building. As with each new cycle just beginning, we can’t expect ourselves to create a whole new world and self overnight. We must allow for the new seeds to plant themselves within the soil of our consciousness. And give them proper care, sustenance, and nourishment as we create and build the new. To have patience with ourselves because we really are just embarking upon a brand new journey and so much is unknown still. Saturn and Neptune met for a cosmic powerhouse of meetings in their fated conjunction on February 20 at 0 degrees of Aries. The point of pure potential. Neptune dissolves the false and strips us down of the illusions. Saturn brings the discipline to see what is false and what is illusion so we can do just that. In order to build new systems that actually support and sustain the individual. It is no coincidence that the Epstein files have been released during this potent time of awakening. To elicit a shockwave of information across the collective stratosphere but also a time of illusions of powers crumbling.

Guru culture is collapsing. The end of outsourcing our power and self leadership to truly heinous individuals who want nothing more than to siphon power and dominate authoritatively over others. This is what Neptune is here to break down and dissolve. A reality check for the authoritarian, oppressive, and sociopathic Saturnian leaders we’ve given our power to. No more placing our own spiritual authority into the guilty (though lacking in accountability) bloodied hands outside of us. Not to any government leader, spiritual guru, or shadow masquerading as light savior complex.

Masks are falling off, and the systems they’ve protected are being exposed. Will humanity be brave enough to look the darkness in the eye? Conspiracy theorists (or realists) have long awaited this time, not in the hopes of the covert, narcissistic, abusive, and downright inhumane theories being true, but in the hopes that others will finally be shown the validity and proof of such things. We can’t change what we are not willing to see. As we awaken to our own spiritual power and inner authority, we return to a space of sovereignty even in the face of of such horrors. Because we know our energy is the currency and that us being fully in our divine power is the spiritual and psychological war at hand. We can hold compassionate space, too, for those newly awakening to the insidious and prolific darkness.

We have been moving through deeply intense energies as of late in this month of February, and they will continue to initiate us deeper into the awakening path as we approach the second eclipse of the season, happening on March 3 at 3:33 a.m. PST for a full moon and total lunar eclipse in the mutable earth sign of Virgo at 12 degrees. A numerological line up 3/3 3:33 makes for an aligned time to come deeper into balance in body, mind, and spirit, the holy trinity of self-invitation making itself known, holy and sacred, again, worthy of full devotion, care, love, and attention. This is the second of three Virgo eclipses, the final one along this Virgo/Pisces axis culminating next Pisces season of 2027.

This full moon and lunar eclipse is ruled by the planet Mercury, as Virgo’s co-ruling planet, in opposition to this moon in Virgo. Mercury has been swimming through the watery depths of Pisces and will be in retrograde motion from February 26 until March 20, with the two-week shadow period of its effect leading up to and following this few week transit. Virgo energy being ruled by Mercury and with the moon’s opposition puts heavy emphasis on this review, reflect, and revisit period of this retrograde theme. Mercury in Pisces is in its fall, or detriment here in the sign of formless, dreamy Pisces. In Pisces, we can more easily feel disoriented, lost, confused, head in the clouds type of energy. Mercury usually feels at home in its natal sign of Virgo (Pisces’ opposing sign), where order is more easily found. Mercury governs our mind, intellect, and communication, as well as technology and travel. When it goes retrograde, the mind goes on an inward journey. Deep in the sign of Pisces, a spiritual journey commences. A time to reconnect with our spiritual faculties and intuition. We will be asked to work with the unconscious, the dreamworld, and intangible, ancestral memories of the soul. Mercury retrograde in Pisces will be a time to revisit the soul lessons we were learning with Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. And to finish up any residual soul work before we more consciously step into the new Aries energy of both outer planets.

Pisces energy invites us to surrender controlling tendencies of the mind and the need to know what this next chapter will look like just yet. To trust the dissolving of what was and that maybe, we don’t need to try so hard to get this spiritual journey or perceived test “right.” That maybe, just maybe, embracing our own humanity and lived experience was enough. That we don’t need to try so hard to control how things will work out, but to just stay open, in deeper trust and surrender to the soul path. Pisces energy asks the mind to soften any rigidity and perfectionism, surrender the harsh inner critic and return to compassion and empathy for the self enduring a most potent time of spiritual awakening. Following a mind and nervous system activating season of Aquarius, Pisces season invites us to surrender back into the cosmic flow of our spiritual journeys even if we don’t know exactly where they are leading to next. Pisces season is the end of the zodiac wheel and cycle, to trust that endings will lead to new beginnings, but first to trust in the dissolving of what was.

The Pisces and Virgo axis is one we know well by now since we have collectively been working with these energies since January 2025. With Pisces as our north node ruler, our spiritual path and soul journey has been stirring even deeper, asking us to awaken to the soul quest and trust the intuitive guidance. With Virgo as the south node ruler, we have been continuously asked to release the pressures we put on ourselves to awaken just “right,” to check all the boxes, to be hyper-productive, to be overly self-critical and demanding of perfectionism, seeking control and order in the chaos of life even if making ourselves more neurotic and insane feeling. We bridge the two energies together by taking the higher octaves of Virgo energy with us: embodiment of our spirituality, embodiment of our health, organization of our minds and intellects, knowing that our body is the channel through which we commune with the world and through which our spirit is able to experience itself in form and to care for it accordingly, but not in hypervigilance or micromanaging, or overly dominating the body either.

Virgo energy is the earth priestess energy in pure devotion to the body. Pisces in devotion to the soul. We need both in order to exist on this planet, especially during these times of darkness purging. To be overly attached to one or the other does a sacred disservice to our mission. If we are too obsessed with the health, youth, purification, and detoxification of the body, we can easily lose our footing in the spiritual world of who we truly are. If we neglect the body or float and escape into the spiritual world consistently, we negate the purpose of being here in these bodies, on this planet. To be in our bodies is a sacred rebellion and practice. The body is the feminine. And the feminine has been raped, pillaged, abused, and harmed violently. The body has been the war ground of brutality. It’s no wonder we would rather disassociate most days and float instead outside of and above the body. Especially as empaths and sensitives, the journey back home to and into the body is the longest and hardest one we will possibly take. To be gentle and forgiving of ourselves, and patient as we remember how to feel and that it is safe to be in our bodies again. And not all at once, but little by little, bringing more safety to the body and embodiment experience.

This full moon and eclipse will be conjunct the south node in Virgo, a karmic release point to remind us how to shed overly harsh, self-critical lenses of self-assessment. Coupled with the full moon energy, an amplified time of endings and completions around outdated, shadow, or toxic traits of Virgo. If we’ve become too mired in perfectionistic reaching standards of self, can we soften and release those now? The shadow traits of Virgo will be amplified here, and we all have amassed shadow Virgo energy within us in need of being shed and released now. As Virgo governs our health, habits, and work in the world, we will be asked to release any outdated or unhealthy patterns that are simply no longer serving our soul’s evolution. Virgo is hyper-focused on analyzing and micromanaging the self, which in excess can lend itself to OCD-like behaviors that make us more unbalanced and neurotic. Virgo energy is the “Am I enough?” inquiry we all ask ourselves. This eclipse asks us to shed the belief that somehow who and what we are is lacking and flawed or not enough. How to be in sacred service to others in our work while also being in sacred service to our own alchemical process? This is what Virgo asks.

Virgo is the alchemist. The healer. The purifier. Co-ruled by Chiron, the wounded healer, we remember that our healing journey is deeply interwoven into our embodiment path and that the wounds to self we’ve endured lead us back to the places of healing, even if uncomfortable at first. Virgo is the hermit, the time we need to go inward and reconnect with the wise elder within. That mastery of our inner world is the true measure of success now. To not be dictated by the louder internal voices we’ve adopted of criticism, performance, pressure, and “have to” energy. To listen more deeply and ask the wise one within to come forward with the needed message and medicine. With so much introspective energy and Pisces energy afoot, this full moon will call us deeper inward, to listen within for counsel before reaching outside of ourselves for answers. With Virgo ruling the south node here, can we soften the pressure we have put on ourselves to get it “right”? Whatever “it” may be?

This moon and eclipse will be highlighting and emphasizing these themes of emotional and embodied safety amidst the intensity of spiritual awakening. Making a sextile to Jupiter in Cancer, the invitation is to soften our hearts and any rigidity of beliefs around our worth and lovability, especially when our energy and body’s health waxes and wanes. Can we still offer ourselves the utmost care and love when we are struggling mentally or physically? Even if just bringing a softer inner voice of tenderness to our own hearts, letting that part of us know we are not abandoning it and that we know how hard it’s been trying to keep us safe from harm. Our belief system is asking for an emotional upgrade here also. Jupiter will be making a supportive trine to both Mercury and the sun in Pisces, bolstering the energetic support around expanding our compassion to include the self, compassion for the self, for the mind, and dosing us with a more conscious and spiritual understanding of what it means to have faith in a time of systemic collapse.

Themes of the past might be popping up during this karmic time and timeline as well, where we learned how to relate to self or other in helpful, healthy, or unhealthy ways. Eclipses bring things up from the past to clear and release, especially combined with this retrograde energy. Jupiter in Cancer will be stationing direct on March 10, a time of forward movement and momentum building again in terms of the past review and emotional healing we’ve done these last few months. Our hearts are ready now to open back up to possibility of growth and expansion from a more heart-aligned standpoint, and we are no longer self-abandoning our heart’s needs for safety in order to be loved by another. Safety and security come from within, after all, and it is our sacred duty to be the bridge of safety back to our own feelings and hearts. Especially in times of big feelings and emotions stirring.

This Virgo full moon and eclipse reminds us to surrender and release any harshness toward self that we’ve adopted in order to feel safe. That maybe rewriting the script of our inner narratives is how we will heal the collective wound of separation. To know that the outer war mirrors the inner war. So we must end the war with self and with our bodies. We must come back into sacred relationship with our bodies, the earth, the feminine and our souls. This is a time of deep soul retrieval back into the body. Bringing our souls into our bodies.

Let this full moon eclipse energy connect you deeper to the path of surrender. Let it remind you that trying harder isn’t always the answer. And may not be the way forward now. Let the sensitivities and dreams stir within you in remembrance of your true divine nature. A reminder that maybe there is no order to be found just yet in the mess and upheaval of a world awakening to its own madness. That maybe, you were meant to be an embodiment of peace by regulating your nervous system. As Virgo rules the health of our gut and digestive system, may we know that emotional and energetic digestion is also one huge piece of the puzzle too. Love the belly, soothe the belly, remind the belly it is safe to soften, safe to exist as it is in its innate softness as we learn to breath more deeply and fully.

Allow this full moon and eclipse energy to remind you that your body, belly, and breath is the safest place to exist in at this time. Even if the mind does its dance to convince you otherwise. Breathe. Deeper. Into. The. Belly. Expand. Its. Capacity. For. Life. For. Digesting. And. Integrating. All. Energies. At. Home. In. The. Belly. In. The. Body. Soul. Coming. Back. Into. Body. Finding. Safety. Creating. Safety. As. We. Awaken. May. The. Body. And. Soul. Be. The. Barometer. Of. Truth. Soften. Rigidity. And. Over controlling. Of self. Purify. The. Inner. Critic. To. Become. Compassion. Embodied. In. Deep. Surrender. To. The. Mystery. You. Are. Aho. Amen. And so it is.
