NUGGETS OF WISDOM - 1371

  • ·       “Safety is not the absence of threat. It is the presence of connection.” ~ Gabor Maté

    ·       “Life does not spontaneously appear in the universes; the Life Carriers must initiate it on the barren planets. They are the carriers, disseminators, and guardians of life as it appears on the evolutionary worlds of space.”

    ·       If Dhamma is lost, happiness is lost:  you are anxious and agitated. If Dhamma arises, happiness arises:  you are filled with joy and bliss.

    ·       I’m afraid of losing my obscurity. Genuineness only thrives in the dark. - Aldous Huxley

    ·       But first! What’s a “real” father? The gentleman who shows up. Who loves, teaches, protects, serves, advises. It’s got very little to do with biology, and everything to do with caring. I write about that here in some depth: “Unhappy Father’s Day.”

    ·       And so I honor real fathers. I look forward to being one. I’ll make a ton of mistakes, every day, I’m sure. But I’ll show up. I’ll care. I can’t wait (that said, I’m in no rush).

    ·       “It is easy for a father to have children than for children to have a real father.” ~ Pope John XXIII

    ·       “It is much easier to become a father than to be one.” ~ Kent Nerburn

    ·       “I cannot think of any need in childhood as strong as the need for a father’s protection.” ~ Sigmund Freud.
