All of us want to be present, to show up for our lives, to experience love, to experience fulfillment, to experience joy and happiness, and we can’t do that if we’re constantly running away from the present moment. The present moment is where anything good happens. ~ Waylon Lewis
The way we cut through the low level fear, or boredom, and get to genuine happiness, a life of service, total relaxation—it’s available right here if we learn how to relax into “hot boredom,” rather than running away from boredom through distraction. (Read more on why Boredom is good for you.)
Boredom is necessary and we have to work with it. ~ Trungpa Rinpoche
We can incorporate meditation as a part of our regular, daily routine, as a part of mind maintenance, like brushing our teeth, in order to practice working with feelings like boredom and fear—it’s kind of like exercising our patience muscle!
