TED Talk: Why we Love, Why we Cheat.

“Love is a smoke raised with the fume of sighs,
Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers’ eyes,
Being vexed, a sea nourished with lovers’ tears.
What is it else? A madness most discreet,
A choking gall and a preserving sweet.” ~ William Shakespeare

If you haven’t heard of Helen Fisher yet, it’s probably about time you acquaint yourself.

The first time I saw this TED talk, I was, quite honestly, in awe.
Love is a wildly complicated, painful, invigorating, mysterious human experience. Helen Fisher, a biological anthropologist, breaks down the science of how love works and why we do the crazy things we do for it.
When it comes to love, it usually feels like the majority of us are just stumbling around in the dark. Helen Fisher changes that by revealing some of the fundamental truths behind the uplifting—and often devastating—reality of love.
