The 12 Days of Aries: Day 12, Pisces (KB)

Welcome to Day 12 of the 12 Days of Aries, which begins at sundown on Tuesday, April 19 and ends at sundown on Wednesday, April 20.

Pisces is a mutable water sign. Mutable signs carry the energy change, flexibility and movement, and water signs have the gift of feelings and sensitivity. It is no wonder therefore that Pisces is represented by two fish swimming just below the surface, tapped into the unconscious world of dreams and imagination. That is where they Pisces live—just below the surface…they are some of the most creative, sensitive, and artistic people in the world.

The Pisces Inner Child Archetype feels things so intensely that it finds it easier to hide from reality than to face it. Full of emotion and fear, it looks for comfort in addictions and other means of escape because the reality of life is just too much. The Pisces Inner Child archetype is the like a little fish hiding under a rock. It can feel the pain of others as a way surveying the surrounding waters for protection from danger.

We all have a bit of this Pisces Inner Child Archetype within. Perhaps we avoid certain people or situations that we know we need to deal with. Or maybe we find ourselves going to some sort of physical substance for comfort or refuge. Whatever the case may me, when we can identify this inner child archetype in ourselves, we can begin to heal it. By identifying what this child is avoiding, we can get a better understanding of what we need to do in this world and how to go about doing it.

Consciousness for the Day: Before you reach outside of yourself—to food, drink, or whatever it is that you fancy--stop and ask yourself if it is truly what your soul desires or just what your inner child wants to feel good now. Find two areas of your life where you feel victimized and take a concrete step to take responsibility for your own fulfillment. Feel your own joy and other people's joy.

Most importantly, be gentle with yourself and your inner child. You are work in progress and a child of God who loves you. Healing comes from positively acknowledging and taking responsibility for what we need to change, not from beating ourselves up.
