We always need to ask ourselves why we do what we do and why we want what we want.
Let’s say, for example, I want to have the most gorgeous house or the most amazing parties. Why do I want these things? Is it because I want people to know who I am, or admire me, or respect me?
Or is it because I want people to feel at home in my house so that we can share with each other?
To grow spiritually, we need to strive to have a consciousness of sharing. Do I desire x, y, and z only to boost my own ego and comfort? Or do I want them so that I can share more with the world? |
